Jonathan G. Anderson

Jonathan Anderson is the principal attorney and founder of Anderson & Associates, P.C. Mr. Anderson guided the growth of this family law firm from a one-attorney law practice in Schaumburg, Illinois to an eight-attorney law firm with Cook County offices in Schaumburg and Chicago, Illinois and a DuPage County office in Wheaton, Illinois. For over 25 years, Jon Anderson has achieved optimum results for his clients in divorce and other family law litigation involving issues that include family-owned businesses, pre-marital (pre-nuptial) agreements, post-marital (post-nuptial) agreements, marital property and non-marital property distribution, maintenance (alimony), custody, visitation and the removal of minor children to and from the state of Illinois.

Today Jonathan Anderson concentrates his practice in financially sophisticated divorce litigation, including divorces involving: complex business valuation, real estate valuation, and other asset valuations issues; cases that involve complex discovery and hidden asset scenarios; litigation challenging or enforcing pre-nuptial agreements or post-nuptial agreements; and custody issues.

Jonathan Anderson handles most of the drafting and litigation of the law firm's pre-nuptial agreements and post-nuptial agreements and recently won a landmark appellate decision involving the validity of a post-nuptial agreement.

Mr. Anderson maintains an aggressive litigation style. Though he believes most cases should settle, he knows thorough litigation preparation establishes a foundation to negotiate from a position of strength.

Jonathan Anderson has taught, lectured and published materials on a variety of family law issues. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association, Chicago Bar Association, Northwest Suburban Bar Association, DuPage Bar Association; and is a member of the Family Law Committees in each of those legal associations.
